Love and Ghosts is the most recent album creation from Farmers By Nature: the phenomenal trio of drummer Gerald Cleaver, bassist William Parker, and pianist Craig Taborn. Each are internationally renowned master musicians-improvisers-composers. When they work together as Farmers By Nature, it is as a complete improvising collective. All of their communions are auspicious and deeply rewarding events with an intrinsically focused intent to manifest a complete narrative arc, rich with subtlety and felicitous surprise.

This is the group's third release and presents two complete concert communions recorded in Marseille [tracks 1–5] & Besançon [tracks 6–10] during their inaugural tour of Europe. The varying landscapes & cityscapes they traveled through, and as importantly – the sheer ability to travel freely across borders, unlike the majority of the world’s population – inform these two extraordinarily fertile nights of sound fluency and invention. The dynamic ranges from an extremely delicate ambience to highly articulate tempests of rhythm. Luminescent melodies refracting through gently rippling rhythms, kaleidoscopic fractals, roadhouse abstractions, and what sounds like a train rapidly laying its own track while nimbly scaling mountains are but some of the sonic treasures to be experienced here.
